Downsizing Christmas

It's Black Friday and maybe you're thinking about making your way to the mall and putting up lights and oh-how-stressful-this-season-can-be. But I wanted to just step in here - right before things start to go haywire - and encourage you to breathe. And to maybe think smaller this year?

I'm remembering my 31 Days to Smaller Living posts. Remember those? And I'm thinking it might be a good idea to remember small can be good - even at Christmas. Maybe you're feeling the pressure to do things bigger and better this year. To out-do last year. But what if better is smaller? What if smaller isn't so bad after all?

This year, I'm trying a smaller Christmas. I'm going to try to stay out of the fray. Maybe you'd like to try it, too? Maybe you'd like to reign yourself in - right along with me? Let's see what happens when we intentionally do Christmas smaller.

Would you join me for 25 Days To A Smaller Christmas? Will you follow along this holiday season as I focus on downsizing Christmas? Beginning December 1, I'll be writing here every day and I encourage you to join me in breathing deeply and scaling back just a bit.

This year, let's bypass haywire altogether. Let's take deep breaths of peace instead.

This sounds perfect for where I am . . caught in the middle of the anticipation of delight and the dread of exhaustion. I'll be visiting!
