Which Translation Are You Using?

Yesterday, I clicked on a blog I'd never read before and was instantly smitten. I kept clicking around from one story to the next, captivated by this woman and the things she had to say. The writing was witty and warm and charming and smart. Sometimes I'm witty, and I like to think I'm warm and occasionally charming. But smart isn't something I can claim. I've got a bit of wisdom I've earned over the years, but that's not the same as smart.

So, to see this blogger put all those qualities together and tie them up with a bow of smart? Well. I wanted to be just like her.

Has that ever happened to you?

I sat there reading and laughing and wondering why I can't write like that, and that's when I remembered what Lisa-Jo said the other day. She said, "God wants you to tell your story through the translation of you."

When you tell your story, yours is the only voice that will make sense. This world only gets one chance to have you pass this way, and only you can say the things you have to say and make us see the things you see. We want to hear you tell your story. We want to hear your voice.

I know. Sometimes it takes a while to find the voice that belongs to you. The one that sounds the way you sound, even when it's just words on the screen. We don't mind waiting. We don't mind listening in as you work out the kinks. We're patient when it comes to stuff like that.

You're the only one who can tell your story, you know? Your voice? It's absolutely fabulous.

Oh my sweet friend, this is how I feel about you! I wish I could write as eloquent as you do. Most of the time I feel I can't say or express what my heart feels. xo
